The smoky eye is one of the festive season's most coveted eye shadow looks, but applying all that black shadow can get pretty ugly if you don't know what you're doing. For those of us (ahem . . . like me) who aren't so skilled with smoky eye application, Topshop has gifted us its Smoky Eye Kit (£22). The kit contains the brand's uber-luxe kohl liner, a full-sized tube of its 3D Curve Mascara, and a palette with four shadow shades. While I love the liner and the mascara, my favourite has to be palette, mostly because it does the work for you. Along with your typical black shadow, Topshop's Tuxedo palette houses burgundy, purple, and cream shades, making it easy to create a bunch of different looks. This may be the only kit you need to get you through party season. And as if that weren't enough, the entire kit comes tucked inside a fluorescent envelope clutch. Christmas has come early!
Edward Meadham and Benjamin Kirchhoff, the designers behind Meadham Kirchhoff, are about to launch their fourth collaboration with Topshop on 21 November, and this one has a pretty theatrical backstory.
"This collection for Topshop was inspired by the idea of a band or a gang, which we named The Cherrys," the designers said in a statement. "The overall aesthetic was influenced by Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids, Kembra Pfahler, and glam rock."
The designers admit that those myriad references will mean not everyone will love all 89 pieces in the collaboration, and they know that customers will "adapt or reject as they see fit." Still, we're willing to bet you'll find more than a few pieces you love. Bonus: click through to the very end of the gallery to meet the fictitious band, The Cherrys!
Topshop recently announced that it's renewing its collaboration with the young British label Meadham Kirchhoff. Hitting stores on 21 November, the collaboration is inspired by an imaginary band. Although this would be their fourth partnership, we thought we'd help you get to know the label even more. Herein, more information about the designers behind Meadham Kirchhoff, their quirky clothes, and what you can expect from the upcoming collaboration.
Take the guesswork out of reproducing a catwalk beauty look with this specially curated kit from Topshop makeup. Called The Damned (£45), it's designed to help you re-create what it describes as the "pre-Raphaelite-meets-Twilight" face — think smoky, glossy eyes and deep, dark matte red lips. Topshop's makeup line is great for innovative textures, modern finishes, and trend-inspired colours, and this is the perfect way to try it out. The eye gleam is a particularly cool product for getting that catwalk look, sitting somewhere between a cream shadow, a liquid liner, and an eye gloss.
