Film Independent's Los Angeles Film Festival 2012 rolled on yesterday with the premiere of People Like Us at Regal Cinemas. Elizabeth Banks stood out in gold J. Mendel as she posed with her leading man, Chris Pine. Michelle Pfeiffer was also on hand in a gray dress, though costar Olivia Wilde didn't make the event. The movie, which is just one of Elizabeth's many current projects, hits theaters at the end of this month. She also has the comedy Pitch Perfect coming out in October and recently shared her excitement about the new trailer on Twitter. Elizabeth will be switching gears back to her eccentric Hunger Games character, Effie, when filming for the second installment, Catching Fire, gets underway later this Summer.
Velvet, satin, netting, lace and sheer fabrics were all on display at the Dark Shadows premiere in London last night. Michelle Pfeiffer wore a satin burgundy strapless Lanvin dress with Sergio Rossi peep toe heels for the UK premiere at Empire Leicester Square, while Helena Bonham Carter was unsurprisingly eye-catching in a Vivienne Westwood frock with heaps of netting. Chloe Moretz embraced British culture by wearing a red McQ Alexander McQueen AW12 dress in velvet and broderie anglais. Her costar Eva Green also went for velvet in Tom Ford, while Bella Heathcote wore lace Pucci and Paloma Faith was in sheer Dolce & Gabbana. Click through to see all the outfits, and tell me who was most fab!
Johnny Depp had the company of his Dark Shadows costars, Michelle Pfeiffer, in Lanvin, a Tom Ford-clad Eva Green, and Chloe Moretz last night for their big LA premiere. Director Tim Burton was on hand as well, and he stopped to pose for a handful of photos with his frequent collaborator Johnny. Johnny and Tim's latest effort, the story of a vampire who comes back to life after being buried for 200 years, is out in the US on Friday, May 11.
On the black carpet, Johnny spoke about what scares him. He said, "Dancing. The idea of dancing is the only thing that scares me. I'd rather fight a buzz saw than dance." Johnny apparently even invited Steven Tyler to the premiere! Steven, who planted a kiss on Cloris Leachman in full view of the photographers, said Johnny personally called to extend an invitation. Steven said that Johnny pleaded, "Come to the premiere and come jam with us after."
Ashton Kutcher and Lea Michele got their flirt on last night at the LA premiere of New Year's Eve. She brought along her best friend Jonathan Groff as her date, but later even thanked Ashton on Twitter. Lea wrote to Ashton, "It was such an honor working with you. I cannot thank you enough."
Joining Ashton and a Valentino-clad Lea on the red carpet at Grauman's Chinese Theatre were their other costars, including Zac Efron, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Abigail Breslin. Hilary Swank, meanwhile, posed in a sequined Elie Saab gown. Katherine Heigl threw an arm around husband Josh Kelley, and Josh Duhamel accompanied wife Fergie. Sofia Vergara posed solo and looked amazing in a LBD. The cast moved on to an afterparty held at Hollywood and Highland, where Sofia tweeted that Ludacris joined in on the fun.
The Elle Women in Hollywood Tribute, held inside LA's Four Seasons Hotel last night, brought out many A-list stars to toast honorees Jennifer Aniston, Barbra Streisand, Michelle Pfeiffer, Viola Davis, Evan Rachel Wood, Freida Pinto, Naomi Watts, Elizabeth Olsen, and DreamWorks studio head Stacey Snider. Jennifer Aniston brought boyfriend Justin Theroux along for the bash, and she looked amazing in a Kaufmanfranco dress. Elizabeth and Freida, meanwhile, picked Calvin Klein dresses for the occasion.
Many of the ladies paid tribute to legend award-winner Barbra, though Reese reserved her comments for Jennifer. Reese raved about Jennifer, saying, "You just want to get your nails done with her, and you want to make out with her at the same time. At least I do — and that's what we do sometimes on Saturdays." Reese also had time to say hi to her This Means War costar and pal, Chelsea Handler, as well as Robin Wright. Katherine Heigl made it an adorable date night with her husband, Josh Kelley, and Rachel Zoe stepped out in a long, flowy gown. We caught up with some of the ladies on the gray carpet before the event began. Naomi spoke about how amazing it was to shoot with Leonardo DiCaprio on their upcoming movie, J. Edgar, and joked that unlike some actors she's worked with, she likes him just as much as his work. Katherine Heigl admitted that she was inspired to act by Jennifer, and Michelle said she was so honored to be there — stay tuned for more later today on PopSugar Rush!
Zac Efron and Michelle Pfeiffer have been reunited after Hairspray for one of the interlinking stories in New Year's Eve. The pair were spotted filming in New York yesterday, with Zac filming on a regular bike, before the pair took turns to drive a Vespa with the other riding behind them. Michelle's gorgeous looks have been toned down for her character — she wore a bulky coat and a messy brown wig during the scenes — while Zac's sharp Fashion Week look has been toned down for his. Other stars slated for the sequel to Valentine's Day include Ashton Kutcher, Sofia Vergara, Lea Michele and so many more!
